1. Who we are

StoryTime is operated by Debanshu Roy (trading as StoryTime Studio), an individual based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of the Service

StoryTime lets parents and guardians create personalised children's stories using AI, choose a narrator voice, generate narrated audio, and read or listen together with their children. The Service includes a free tier and a paid "Pro" subscription tier described below.

3. Eligibility & accounts

StoryTime is designed to be used by an adult parent or guardian on behalf of their child or children. You must be at least 18 years old to create a StoryTime account. Children do not create their own accounts or interact with StoryTime unsupervised — the account holder is responsible for supervising use of the Service by any child, including reviewing all generated content before it is read or listened to by a child (see Section 10).

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscription plans & billing

StoryTime offers the following plans:

• Free — up to 5 story creations per month, no audio narration, English only, library capped at your 5 most recent stories.
• Pro (₹199/month or ₹1,499/year) — unlimited story creations, unlimited audio narration, all supported languages, unlimited library, and community publishing.

Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected) via our payment partner, Cashfree, using UPI AutoPay or supported card/netbanking methods. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

6. Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from the app's Settings screen. Cancellation stops future billing; it does not end your current paid period early, and you will retain Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Payments already made are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will review the matter.

7. User content & community publishing

Stories you create — including your prompts and any AI-generated text or audio produced from them — belong to you. By choosing to publish a story to the StoryTime Community section, you grant StoryTime a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and stream that story to other users within the app. You may un-publish a community story at any time, which removes it from public view.

8. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to use StoryTime to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a children's platform;
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, subscription gating, or the fair-use policy above;
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its underlying models and infrastructure;
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
• Publish community content that infringes on the rights of others.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Intellectual property

The StoryTime name, logo, app, and underlying software are the property of Debanshu Roy (trading as StoryTime Studio) and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or branding without prior written permission.

10. AI-generated content disclaimer

Stories, narration, and translations on StoryTime are generated using third-party AI models. AI-generated content may contain errors, inconsistencies, mispronunciations, unexpected tone, or content that does not match your expectations, and we do not warrant that it is accurate, age-appropriate, or error-free for your specific child.

You are solely responsible for reviewing all generated content — both the written story text and the generated audio narration — before it is read or listened to by a child. Text review alone is not sufficient: audio narration is a separate output from text-to-speech conversion and may differ from the reviewed text in tone, emphasis, or pronunciation. This applies to every story regardless of topic.

11. Third-party services

StoryTime relies on third-party providers to operate, including Google (Sign-In, Gemini AI, and Cloud Storage), DeepSeek (AI text generation), and Cashfree (payment processing). Your use of StoryTime is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers where relevant to the features you use.

12. Termination

You may stop using StoryTime and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or if required to do so by law.

13. Limitation of liability

StoryTime is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages arising from AI-generated content that was not reviewed before being shared with a child (see Section 10). Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of StoryTime will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Gurgaon, Haryana, India.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of StoryTime after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
